Meet Terriee smith lmhc, mcap

Are you ready to break free from the cycle of food struggles and dieting?

Remember when body shame, failed diets, and weight issues weren’t the norm? Wish you had the tools to change that?”

You’re in the right place.

I’m here to help you make peace with food.

I’m Terriee Smith, and I help dedicated men and women just like you: ones, that have it within them to lose weight and feel proud again, but just need the support to get there.

I help my clients find motivation, confidence, and success by equipping them with the tools they need to build a healthy relationship with food and better manage their eating habits.

Many of today’s solutions for weight loss counseling are only focused on helping you stick to a restrictive diet, making a lot of people feel unmotivated and like they’re losing control. I get that your situation is one-of-a-kind. Let’s work together to help you build trust in yourself and your decisions.”

  • First, we’ll explore how your relationship with food is contributing to the issues you’re facing with your diet.

  • Next, we’ll focus on the emotional management skills and behavior changes that will work best for you.

  • By working together, you’ll not only learn how to lose weight but also gain the skills to manage your thoughts and feelings, trust your decision-making abilities, and repair your relationship with food.

My Mission

I’m committed to the belief that eating should be a joyful, stress-free experience.

My training in eating disorders and bariatric support means I have the expertise you need and deserve when losing weight and building a healthy relationship with food. But at the end of the day, you want to know you’re working with someone who “gets” what it means to be a motivated adult struggling with their weight, right?

I have been there, I struggled with obesity most of my life and tried numerous diets before deciding on bariatric surgery and counseling. Today, I have maintained a healthy weight, improved my body image, and cultivated positive eating habits. I understand how discouraging it can feel to face setbacks, but I also know how incredibly encouraging it feels to achieve success.  So, when we work together, you won’t just get a trained therapist. You’ll get someone who truly understands what you are going through.

My guiding principles

Growth

I believe you are deserving of a therapist who is dedicated to continuous growth through ongoing learning and self-reflection.

Trust

I believe you are deserving of trust, as it is critical for building a safe space for open communication and sharing.

Safety

I believe you deserve a secure environment in therapy, where you can feel comfortable and open up about your experiences.
